Fear

Post by Nelkie »

You are corect Brian

But being a barbrain druid is will only really just to be able to do that.

The worse combo is a
2nd level warrior
4th level beast hunter
3rd level druid.

You can root, fear, and hit for 2 damage with a spear.

If that seems to broken, than make druid only common.

Because Both Root and Sleep are Physical effects whereas Fear is a psycological effect.

First Nelkie:

I never said that the barbarian/druid was or wasnt anything, you just stated that it takes two people to fear/root somone and therefore the fear effect isnt broken. I was just pointing out, which you helped do with a second path/discipline combo, that one Pc could do it.

Second:

Fear is an emotinal state that causes a physical effect on the body. Fear therefore is both. A magical fear is no different than an artificaly induced panic attack. Those that have those can tell you that when they hit, you most often have no ide what you are afraid of, you are just terrefied because your heart is racing, you cannot breathe and think your goind to die.

All emotional states cause a physical reaction to some degree. The stronger the emotional or psychological trauma the greater the effect on the body is.

Things like root on the other hand are physical in nature. They can also cause an emotional response, like fear, anger or frustration.

Either way the initial cause is either physical or psycological and the effect on the person can be both or either.

Erik I completely agree with you on what you just said for I was thinking pretty much the same thing.

Root = physical effect. Sure the psychological effect might be there, but the primary is physical.

Fear = psylogical totally which causes the physical reaction like running away, cowering in a corner, etc.
