"Aurora, You mean well, but we can not attack the elves BEFORE they are thin. It will do no good. They need to outreach their grasp, or we will die. Attacking them before they have stretched across the land, would be like throwing a grain of sand against a beach.
If we wait for them to reach out, then we help those still in Haven, or the other taken cities, they will need to thin out even further. Then we can strike. If their ranks are thin, even a single coin can tip the scales in our favor.
We need to supply the Havenites who still live. As for what they want there, I have seen it. A magical eye at the top of a tower. Something powerful, something they can get no where else."
The masked man in the back says, quietly leaning on his staff. One black eye, and one white eye, stare out from under the porcelain.
"We need to provide supplies to the resistance group in Haven. With out them, we can not win. "

*Looks at Abaddon*
I don't want to attack them now. I just want to see how much of a hold they have here and try to stop whatever influence or plans they may have to corrupt from within. If I didn't make that point clear before I am now. That could put a dent in their overall plans.
I think it would be a bad idea to seperate when the attack comes and have one group to and attack Haven for we'd need all available hands here.
As for supplying the Haven allies. *Looks at Atrum*
I think this is something somone would prefer not to discuss out in the open even though it was Robert who started this conversation and well hey for a change I was willing to listen to what Ziera was thinking. You all need to get together and come up with a plan or two.
*Narrows her eyes on Atrum*
Hand over Caldeonia....not in this lifetime.

Atrum, I understand the need for discretion but were just throwing around ideas. We're amongst allies though and some of the best laid plans were on the table of an inn. And as far as setting aside differences well...
Zeira looks over at Aurora from across the table
Aurora and I have never seen eye to eye on anything but we're being civil on this one because it's important. I think that we can all come together and figure out a way we can retake Haven and save Caldonia. We need your help especially though Atrum. You know more about Haven than anyone here. If you would rather talk in a private room we can but it's going to be hard to fit everyone in town in there. So let's just talk.

A man not many would recognise but some know as virgil enters and speaks as if hes been listening. "There are two main tactics when dealing with a stronger foe, 1- you gather all your might and strike at there weakest point hoping to end the fight in one hit, 2- guerilla warfare (turns to rhul) pardon the term, were you use hit and run tactics to make the oposing war to costly and give up, both great ideas, but there is a 3rd that others might consider before the end, its not wining but its not loseing, truce.

Zeira looks at the newcomer
I don't think a truce is going to be an option in this situation. The elves have pretty much given everyone the option of "Lay down your weapons and serve" or "Fight us and die". The Caldonians are NEVER going to lay down their weapons. It's just not how they do things around here. They have honor and would die before allowing their people to become subjugated to the elves. It's not that they wouldn't accept a peace treaty they just won't accept the rule of the elves.

*Korrigan continues to listen and serves a round of drinks. He brings Aurora a particular looking glass with Ga'vin markings on it and shakes his head when she asks if he has seen Mohdri.*

Mortimer listens to several speak before his drunken brain processes what Atrum has said. Having been through the questionning already, having looked around and seen the other faces present, it dawns on him that this public inn is public only because of him, that he being an outsider has and may continue to cause apprehension, so he sheepishly says, "I can leave if you'd like."

by Malachi
Malachi enters. He sits and looks to Korrigan.
"Construction is complete. Welcome to your new home."
He looks around the room.
"You all have come up with ideas on how to deal with this situation. You've all come up with reasons as to why the elves want to take over the world. And you've all come up with reasons why they took Haven first."
He pauses for a drink.
"And you are all correct, in a manner of speaking."
To Aurora and Ziera
"There is something powerful about Haven. A type of magic that not even the elves can produce."
He stands
"It is a symbol of hope and freedom for the downtrodden. A place where anyone may go and become more than they are."
He begins pacing
"When the elves took Haven, it wasn't only a strategic move for position and resource. It was psychological warfare, and it cut deeper than any sword."
He looks to the survivors for confirmation
"In this situation, I would normally vote an eye for an eye. However, we are dealing with a group that has been practicing war for ten of our lifetimes."
He walks back over to his seat
"I am no tactician. I do not pretend to understand large scale battles. I do know that we need to all agree on a course of action and go with it. Second-guessing will lead to our demise."
He sits
"Regardless of our action, one of two things will happen. We win, or we lose. A fifty-fifty shot is better than none, in my eyes.

*Atrum looks over at Abbadon and shoots him quick look*
What resistance is this that you speak of? I'm sure the people left of Haven have simply accepted their fates.
*Quirks a small smile*
Aurora, you really need to listen better, did anyone every say anything about giving over Caledonia? I certainly did not, I have pledged to do what I can for Caledonia and our settlement here directly to the King.
Robert has suggested we talk of ways that we can find to work together, he has spoken of what other motivations the elves may have. He never suggested that we lay out battle plans or discuss what or who is involved in espionage within Haven.
*looks to Mortimer*
It's not you, it's everyone. Only a few need to know what tactical plans are, the rest just need to know what they need to do. I know that doesn't sit well with some people who feel they should be included in everything but that's simply not prudent.

by Esmerelda
Esmerelda enters the common room from the hallway that leads to her room. Upon seeing Robert she looks confused for a moment but that quickly gives way to joy. She quickly walks over and sits beside him.
"I thought that was your voice. I'm glad to see you made it back here alive. I did not expect you to return so soon. Did you procure what we last discussed so that we can further our reconaissance of Haven? We want to strike soon, but we need a bit mroe information in order to formulate our plan."

*Aurora looks at Atrum and smirks*
What I heard from Ziera is that he wanted a group to attack Haven when Caldeonia would need you all to defend it the most.
*She looks at Esmerelda and then back to the group.*
*To Atrum* Just nevermind. *Back to the group* What is important right now is that if there are any resistance and we can get supplies to them you all coordinate that. We need to keep an eye out for signs here and hopefully fish out any allies that they might have who might leak information or bring harm to the area.
More in depth discussion can be discussed behind closed doors later.
*Back to Esmerelda*
Esmerelda when you get a chance I need to talk to you. Hopefully you received my message that should have been delivered to you.

Esmerelda turns a level gaze at Aurora.
"Yes, Aurora, I got your message. Which is slightly confusing to me. Why are you here? You seemed adamant that your place was with Finn in the north..."

by Abaddon
"Lord Atrum, There is a resistance in Haven. We have even spoken with one of their number. I do not wish to name the one who was here for their own safety. Lady Esmeralda should have filled you on that discussion." Abaddon says.
"The elves have years of theory on warcraft. But, here, now, are the ones with the most experience. Between Caladonia, and those of you from Haven. We will need to exploit their weakness, and turn their strength into flaw.
Large armies are slow to respond, feed, and manage. It is here we need to strike. Elves are arrogant. They will not plan out their battles as well as they could.
With these tools, we can win."

by Atrum Draconus
Abbadon did you hear anything I said? Suppose we were brought information that there was a resistance here, what do you believe our response would be. I think Mortimer here knows exactly what would happen. It would be rooted out by force, even through deaths if necessary. So, I will repeat once again espionage and battle tactics are not public discussion topics.
Where you are wrong is with the elves arrogance. They sat and watched and infiltrated Haven for YEARS before they struck. I can assure you, they won't just walk in here and expect to defeat Caledonia with sheer numbers or simple strategies.

*Aurora looks at Esmerelda*
Well I had a shipment to deliver to Korrigan to see if he wants to indeed store something for me down here and for a bit. Minds have changed since I wrote you that message for I needed to obtain a bit more information to make best usage of the resources I might have at my disposal to contribute to things.
Also, this warm front has even hit Coldridge so needless to say I don't need to be as couped up nor do I feel like remaining couped up.
Not to mention *she grins playfully* I needed to know first hand about the situation regarding a certain item and could not wait. From what I learned from Mohdri and Abaddon it's important.
Besides I didn't like leaving as quickly as I did *she grins.*
