The girl smiles brightly as if proud of herself, "Yeah, Uncle Ferry!"

*Talana nods to Amagus when he congratulates her about her accomplishment*

Thank you, Good Sir Avantine. But there are tremendous responsibilities that come along with it and so it is important that town be availed of the potential of the gate.

*After hearing Sara's answer, Talana futher queries:*

"Sara where did you just come from? Vaunepashauk? Is that where this Uncle Ferry is from? Did he give you any additional information at all about how to get back to where you just came from or where you wish to go?"

She looks up at Talana quizically. "Yeah, I was at Vanafusack where Uncle Ferry lives. Um, he gave me these..." She reaches into her jacket and puls out some badly folded papers and starts pulling two letters sealed with wax apart from eachother one clearly with 'Amagus' written in the common tongue across its face.

*Talana looks at the two letters and any other papers that the girl might have with her. When she determines that one is clearly addressed to Amagus, she calls the old man to her and hands him the parchment. If the other parchment (and any other papers) are not clearly marked, Talana will open them and read them quickly, but silently to herself first before saying anything more.*

*having just exited the jail cell, Woden follows Kels outside sparing only a sideways glance at Talana and a glare at Amagus before leaving*

Amagus sighs as he takes his letter. He studies it a moment, then hands it to Sara.

“Be so kind as to open this for an old man.” He then takes several steps back.

Taking the letter Sarah holds it a second confused why he wants her to open it, but then does so unfolding it and looking at it a moment. With a look of confusion she holds it up for Amagus to see and says, "Um, it's blank."

"Of course it is, my dear."

Amagus snatches the paper away from Sarah and returns to his table to study it.

Having quickly opened the other letter(s) and parchment(s) that Sarah handed her initially and begun reading them, Talana looks up as Amagus asks Sarah to open the missive and while the young girl complies, looking at Amagus incredulously.*

*Not having been able to react quickly enough before Sarah opened the letter for Amagus, Talana steps to the side quickly, hugging Sarah to her side protectively as a last ditch effort to protect the girl before the letter was completely unscrolled. Talana looks quickly at the letter and then to Amagus with a slightly puzzled look on her face and when Amagus snatches the parchment out of Sarah's hands and makes his way to the table, Talana swings around front of Amagus before he makes his way to the table and stops him, attempting to pluck the letter out of his hands, saying concurrently.*

"No... Amagus..." *she says resolutely* "It's not blank at all, here let me show you..." *still grasping for the letter, her words break off as she tries to grab the letter from Amagus in an effort to help the man see something.*

"Surely there's a message to be revealed. If you care to be the one to do it, then by all means proceed."

Another predatory smile as she takes the relinquished letter. "Such an admirable thirst for lore."

"I'll gladly take the missive off of your hands, Amagus... and by the by, don't think I don't know you just risked that young girl's life by asking her to open that letter which was surrounded by magical energies..."

*Talana eyes Amagus angrily and snorts as she walks away with Amagus' letter and walks back over to Sarah.*

"Sarah... don't ever listen to that man again and don't ever do him another favor, not even if he smiles crookedly at you and acts all pathetic like."

*Talana stuffs all of the papers into her pouch while she addresses the girl then nods to Farak.*

"It's very late and you've had a very eventful evening, Sarah. I think you should finish up your cider and I'll get you some tart for dessert. Farak and I will look into getting you home first thing in the morning."

*Talana pats her pouch as she finishes her sentence and looks to Farak to see if he has anything to add before she makes her way back to Sen.*

Amagus watches Talana storm away, then sits back at his table.

“Such an imagination possessed by that Elf.”

He locks eyes with Sarah

“Rest assured, Sarah, I will ask nothing further of you. Actually it is I who might do you a favor. I can find your brother, Sarah. Indeed, I may be the only one who can.”

“Also I must warn you that your ‘Uncle Fenly’ is only using you to further his own ends. He has no intention of finding your brother.”

“Come to me later should you seek my assistance.”

Sarah looks back and forth between Talana and Amagus with bewilderment as she takes a step back. Things were moving so fast and people were grabbing and shouting. She could feel the frustration, fear, and weariness building as her eyes started to sparkle with tears.

"He just wanted to help me find you so you could help... He said the letters were for friends of his. I just want to get home and save my brother. Now, you say the pirates might have taken him already? We'd never find him..." She starts crying and sits on the floor sniffling softly.

“Correct!” Amagus’s words are sharp. “He will never be found if you give up now! Your tears accomplish nothing save the waste of time! Time your brother cannot afford wasted. If you will not be strong, then he is lost!”
