Virgil apears asleep but answers. "I love winter nights by a fire, the cold crisp clear dark nights, the warm bright fire, complete oposites that go so well together...and were not being snuck up on, i spent quite some time behind us and we had no visiters."

Theon looks over at Virgil.

"Well thats good. That should ease the minds of the others when they wake."

Theon re-stokes the fire with some branches and sits by it.

"...I doubt it, the further into enemy teritory we travel, the less calm people will become, with good reason, thats why i hate traveling in groups, how many people die trying to save someone they cant, when your alone you have nothing to worry about."

Robert continues to sit on the rock he found a little away from the fire, but still close enough to feel a bit of the warmth on his back. You have not paid him much attention, but as the hours roll on, and he has not moved you almost have a hard time not staring.

If you listen carefully he appears to be softly humming a tune staring rigidly in the opposite direction Azra and Malachi took.

Paul, Daniel, and Graven are all asleep, with Graven snoring almost annoyingly loud.

"I thought you were with the scouting party? if they all died and your the only one left could you let us know sooner..we will have to go revenge them."
*Virgil looks around at everyone else sleeping*
"or at least i will."

Brey steps out of the shadows where he remained unseen until now

"Virgil what can you tell me of the lands we travel into? It was once your home right?"

Sitting next to the fire Brey brings a flask from his side, and takes a drink, then offers it to everyone there

"What are you looking for Robert?"

Brey strains to make out what Roberts looking at in the darkness

Zeira sits up and stretches

"We're all just hoping everything is going fine with the rest of the group. It's unsettling just sitting here when we don't know how things are going out there. They could be in trouble or things could be fine but what's unnerving is the fact that we don't know what's going on. I just hope it's all good."

Robert, without looking at the group responds: "My heart is unsettled. There is something amist I fear in the direction we head but yet I cannot see it."

*Virgil takes in the conversation, then remembers the question*

"My home?"

*Virgil seems amused at the comment*

"No Haven is not my home, but there is a reason it was called haven, it suposedly had the most fertile lands, the richest fields, but its been a while since the elves took it, im sure much has changed."

The group returns, bloody, nearly dead, many missing at least one limb, their very souls beaten, humiliated, and one look into their eyes reveals that they will never again be the same...

(Sorry, just preparing for the other adventure with Esmerelda's group. In actuality, Mortimer et al return quite fine and healthy)

(OOG: :D )

Malachi addresses the group

"I don't believe there is any cause to fear those behind us. It appears to be circumstantial. In any case, they should be veering off our trail within the next day or two."

He turns to Mortimer

"When do we break camp? The sooner we get there, the better."

Zeira begins to pack up his bedroll and grabs his spear from the ground next to him

"So what happened exactly? Did you go up to them or spy from a distance? I'm sure we would all feel more comfortable if we knew exactly who was behind us and how things went."

*Azra nods to Zeira*

Well, I'm sure all of us can rest easy... at least in regard to what lies behind us. ...What lies ahead of us is another story.

*For a moment, she stares darkly into the forest before them, before turning back to Zeira, and forcing a smile.*

We approached them, spoke with them, shared the warmth of the fire. They're naught but a group of hunters. Brothers, they said. We'll know within a day whether they were being truthful, as Malachi said, they will be heading in a different direction.
