Ok, so I've heard this rule about being able to rewrite your character after your 1st FH event and would like to know more.
#1) Is this even true or just another attempt to screw with the newbs?
#2) How does it work? By this I mean OOG and IG. Is there a poof of smoke and your elf is now a tsunotaur? Does your faery god-mutha smack you upside the head, bless you with wealth and make you forget howto be a barbarian?
That's all I ask... not that much now is it?

Rewrite for the 24th
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Well, at this time I've only been to one event. So I'd like to know what my options are. I now I have a better idea of how abililties work and what combat is like and am thinking of re-tooling my character...
Just don't know how radically I can retool him.

Yes, you can rewrite your character - any and all skills, lifestyle, race, background story, etc.
As far as explanations in game, unless the rewrite is minor (i.e. a few skills), you should just play a different character altogether.
The game and world of Phantara has mechanics for you to "unlearn" things. So, if Rahl all of the sudden can do different things, you can simply say that he unlearned old skills and took on new ones.
However... if those new skills are based on your race or a different lifestyle, you have now changed things for which there is no in or out of game mechanic. This also stands for a different character background as it employs a different character concept.
Make sense?
Rahl can unlearn his first Assassinate skill and have an in game story for it. Rahl cannot all of the sudden be savage (since lifestyle is different than wealth level) or be a Dark Elf (though that may suit his personality better).

Thx! Thats what I was needing to know. Minor changes, no big deal. Major changes, just make new char. Alright, now its time to number crunch and see what I can come up with. And see what my budget will allow for additional garb. Thx again!

Rahl may also want to speak to some of the local seamstresses about cheaper/less expensive costuming. Tonia knows how to whip a sewing machine into a frenzy, and I belive the Natalie(katherine) might as well.
