(OOG: Will delete the information from Azara' mind about Corbyn..grrr...and take it from here)
*Walking near Kathryn and Arthos up the trail*
If ya could for me Arthos, could ya please check on the girl. I will go and check and see if there is a trail from the cave in to Bear and if there isn't I'm headin' to Argyle's. From there, provided she is more awake I want ta talk to the girl. She might know exactly where Bear is.
If he is one with the woods, he will know better then to leave a trail directly to him. Think about it, if ya are bein' hunted, ya hide your tracks if ya don't want to be followed for it is a basic rule of huntin'. If I know that, then a druid such as himself would as well.
I know where Argyle's place is for he told me. Hopefully I shall meet up with the others.
*Looks at the two of them*
I will be alright. Ya know if it is to dangerious I can get out of there quickly. Not to mention I will just observe things until the others arrive. I want to make certian his family is protect as well.
*With that Azara, give Kathryn and Arthos a quick nod and takes off into the woods.*

*Donovan stands just inside the door, taking his gloves off and tucking them behind his sword belt. He looks clearly tired.*
"Excellent. Arthos, if you'd be so kind as to have your alchemist join us, we can get to work. We have much to speak of, but I'll address any other concerns you might have regarding my capture before we get started. I did not expect the tension between the members of the Guard and your Guild, but we should address any such issues immediately. For us to prosper a foundation of trust must be laid, and I am willing to take the first step. Ask me what you will."
*Waits for any questions.*

One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope.
Arthos
* Arthos Unlocks the door and turns off all the traps and lets everyone in. He walks in the back sleeping quaters and places the woman who the group resuced in a bed and make sure she is comfortable and lets her sleep. He locks her in the room so no one can distrub her. The lock is a bar on the outside of the room. Once in he stores all his gear and goes into the back room. He returns with Aliva in tow. They make it tot he table and sit down and motions to Dovan to stash his gear and take a seat*
(OGG: I tlaked to Kelly and she has given me permission to post for her. I will update her on what is going on and I will post her reply. Aaron)
Dovan, glad you are well. Lets see this potion of yours. Aliva should be able to mimic it and produce some more, but will take time. Where did you get from?
As for the difference between the groups, well, it just our different philosphies. While down in the cave I tried to keep everyone together for protection sake. We heard a low moaning coming from another tunnel entrance and we went to investigate and rescued the lady who was searching for the candle for the druid. Your men protested the delay in tracking you down, but we recused the woman who we might be able to give us more information from.
Than when we came down the tunnel we came across the old man sweeping the tunnel who was not armed or made any threanting posture. Your men drew their weapons and threatened him with death if he did not coroperate. I disagreed with their actions and tried to difuse the situation. The druid has been using innocent peasents and farmers as his work force and slave monsters.
I can understand why your men did what they have done, but that method of thinking will only cause trouble and get many innocent people killed. We all have lived through these trying times and it is easier to resort to arms than to talk, but if we are to survive one must learn when it is time for battle and when it is time for talk. I do not fault you or your men, just ask them to learn patience and think before they swing. I have tried your method before, when I was younger, and it only brought distruction and death.
I have found talking and acting friendly usally can get a peson furthure than force of arms and threats.

*Donovan waits for Arthos to return when he places the girl in the sleeping quarters and gives a polite bow in acknowledgement of Aliva's enterance. He takes the seat offered, but remains armed and armoured.*
"I'd prefer not to stash these quite yet, if you don't mind. The last time I relaxed indoors I was pulled through the floor..."
*smiles, and hands the vial to Aliva*
"The potion was something Haybert had stashed on him when we broke out of Bear's prison. It seemed to have quite the effect on the vines, and we need any advantage we can get right now."
"Concerning philosophies, I have no issue with your decision to find the girl before coming after me. My men have only just been re-united with me, and their mindset is to look after their allies first. They would have chafed equally if it had been any other of the people defending the Haven who had been captured. Regardless, I know if you had been in my position, you would have wanted your people to go after the girl first as well, and very likely your people would have wanted to come after you. Had I been in your position, I would have left the girl for later and sought you out, simply because you are too valuable to this community. Light knows I cherish life, but I must look to the good of the whole, and your abilities are much in need."
"As for courtesy, I agree that talking is certainly preferable to fighting. Given the chance, I would love to be able to be polite and diplomatic with everyone we encounter, but such is an unrealistic goal. If diplomacy will protect the Haven and the people, then I will be a diplomat. If courtesy will protect them, then I will be a Courtier. If only steel will protect them, then I will be as steel: hard, sharp, and lethal."
"We have both learned lessons in younger days, though your blood offers you greater years in which to learn. I have seen men pay dearly for a lack of courtesy, but I have also seen them bleed for the presence of it. We were friendly to Joseph, and we nearly lost everything because of that. We trusted the men who came during the seige on the inn, and now Florin walks the earth again. I will certainly cede that there is a time for open arms and friendship, but I ask that you recognize that there is a time for other measures as well."

Arthos
*Arthos Listens and smiles*
Well spoken. I knew we chose a good man as constable. You are right on not trusting everyone that comes into town. I did not trust Joesph, but gave him a curisty until I found out what he was up to. I will treat people fairly until they prove them self a fraud. I do not trust any new stangers until they prove they can be trusted. I us politeness and curisty as weapons to strangers so I can find out what they realy want.
We both want the same thing. Peace and a place of safety for ourselves and people who we support.
I appreciate you complement, but the guild of light knows that one life is not more precious than another. They would not let the girl die just to save me. We all accepect that and thats how we work. Use we will move mountains to help each other, but not at the cost of an innocent life.
You have done a good job as constable and you keep the peace as best as you can. I thank you for that. It is not an easy job. I think the next step is to get laws formed and some type of goverement established to enforce those laws. Lets try to bring cilization to the little haven we are in. I have some ideas. I will write them up and let you review them.
But for now Aliva will work on the potion. I need to find the merchant that wasin the Inn before we went down intot he hole. I want to see if we can get a regualr trade route setup with him. Fresh goods coming into town would be nice and he could be anvenue for use to sell our goods. Would you like to come. Lady Katherine are you interested?
*Arthos gets his gear on and heads to the edge of town where Merchant said his gaurds are at*

*Kathryn, who has been standing near the door to the sleeping area, listening for any trouble from the girl, turns her full attention back to Arthos and Donovan*
I think laws are a wonderful idea. I've been pushing for them since my arrival at Haven, but not everyone who lives here will agree... especially Atrum's people.
As for the merchant, indeed, we should go talk to him to see if a trade route is possible.
*Picks up her shield and wraps her cloak back around her against the chill*
Shall we?

*Smiles at Arthos and Kathryn, and speaks up just as Arthos finishes.*
"Superb. Just as a quick clarification, I also consider all life equally precious. That does not, however, mean that all life is equally useful to the Constable of a beseiged land in times of great distress. As a man who holds life sacred, I see no one person as greater to any other. As Constable, I only have just so many weapons in the fight against the darkness. To lose one life is awful, but to lose one life that might save countless others is a tragedy."
*In response to Kathryn*
"Indeed we shall. As for laws, I already have drafted a system of laws for the land. As soon as we deal with the current threat, I will present them to the people and bring them into effect. Your input is always welcome, both of you."

Traps
OGG: The traps in front of the guild of light have been changed. The traps are not visible and you notice the guild members do not have to deactivate any traps when they enter the guild hall. You see them use a key to unlock the door and they enter in.

*Arrives at the Guild Hall and uses his key to unlock the door and disable all traps - including #373, which sprung into existance as a result of 372 young, eager traps living in close proximity.*
Greetings, Eli. I had expected others to be present. Conferring with a travelling trader, you say? Well, I am certain Arthos will acheive a number of good deals. I wish to speak with our guest, but will await their return for permission to do so.

*Eli is quietly chanting in the corner with a newly crafted steal ring covered in rune of power before him. His voice raises as he apear to finish the spell. Suddenly he reaches into his awsome hat and pulls out the final componants which he promptly throws onto the ring. POOF (big cloud of smoke!!!) Covered head to toe in black stuff, hair fried and standing up straight... Eli crawls out of the corner with his lower lip quivering...
"Risin frikn frakin stinkin pooppoop thingymagigerin"
*tosses a very blackened ring back into the corner...
"What who? Arthos? Donavan? Kathryn? When did they get here. Girl? What girl? Oh that one... *Picks up one of his hammers* Um yeah suppose to wait for them before talking to her. *shakes his head and gets the bigger one... slight evil smile spreads across his face**Where... uh. I think they going to go see some guy about a horse, or something. So... Want a new MAGIC RING????
*as the room clears in terror Eli looks around to find him self alone... What??? What? What... come back.. guys... guys...
sigh back to the drawing board. *hefts the hammer and preceeds to smash that "Risin frikn frakin stinkin pooppoop thingymagigerin- ring....

-Eli (Full Elvish: Elaith Vonaduran Craulnober)
There once was a man named Eli,
A man who claimed he could not die.
But one thing makes him wail:
That's when there is no ALE!
Thus his tale: with no beer, he will cry.
(The dark haired, green eyed mage child has faded into the past leaving behind one not quite an adult, but clearly no longer a child. The warrior-mage mixture that he has become can only be described as a survivor. )
