okay, so does this mean that being 'poisoned' is now a static status effect, or are the limmitations on skills and abilities in addition to loosing life every minute?

I assume this also means there are no levels to poison anymore?

Since we're talking about poison...

Ok I like that its simpler now. And I get that Assassins needed something to replace what was taken from them, but Assassins being the only people in game who can use posion in combat does not seem right. Alchemist, the people that make poison have no idea how to use it unless the are also Assassins?? This doesn't seem right.

Maybe a different ability for Assassins, something like:

Any attack made by an assassin with a poisoned weapon is considered vorpal or if that is too powerful the next attack made with a poisoned weapon is vorpal. They know how too choose a poison, that is either contact or is mixed with acid.

Or they get the a +3 damage to a poisoned weapon on the next attack after it is poisoned (poisoned weapons must be held out in the open and marked as poisoned and the poison only lasts 15 minutes).

Well we are not saying alchemists cannot cannot throw posion viles they simply cannot coat a weapon with posion. Coating a weapon does take a bit of skill.

Anyways your ideas are not bad except you cannot have a skill that lasts 15 minutes because tehre is no way to count it while you are fighting.

Also, posion coating is a 2nd level skill and not out of the range of anyone if they want to pick it up.

I didn't realize this was still viable way of delivering poison. It make a difference.

The idea were rough and off the top of my head. As for the fifteen minute, I was trying to limit people poisoning weapons days in advance, not so much in combat. I never said writing rules was easy ;)

A good point about it being a second level ability.

Dont think i am getting down just telling you the framework so you guys will be better at rule suggestions. We debate all this stuff on teh GM board constantly.

Maybe I will move our pass wall discussion over.
