I had a lot of fun this weekend playing combat NPC after combat NPC- I don't think I've ever gotten that much fighting into one weekend. I didn't get to RP too much, though it did seem I was the body of choice to capture for interrogation. Hope everyone had as much fun fighting me as I did the...

A video tape would probably be very useful, especially if what constitutes charging is easier shown than explained.

Well, the rules list it as 12-18 inches, for the whole length of the weapon, not just the blade. My blade, whole length, is 14 inches, but I've tested slightly longer variants. I have to hold my arm straight out and I can move a little. At 12 inches, I can barely scrape a target in front of me. At 1...

Charging and Fists & Daggers

I was looking over the charging rules and the rules for tiny weapon sizes. To keep two feet of distance while swinging a tiny weapon, I must almost fully extend my arms, looking much like a forklift, and my arms are pretty long. For anyone with less reach and less than the maximum length tiny weapon...

Scout+Scout=?

Just saw that the combo exists to get scout twice (Druid Scout). Since a lot of other skills have gotten a stacking benefit, are there any plans for this one?

Could be a reduced scouting time or perhaps just an enhanced hint?

Well, it sounds like there a variety of tricks to fighting shields, though most involve rules advantages from skills- thank you for all of these, some may be adopted into my fighting style if possible, though I'm not sure I like the idea that everyone should use a shield. It looks as if beating a sh...

Fighting Shields

I've been reading up on shields and it seems as if they are impossible to deal with. While getting close may get you a lucky shot, they seem to have had so many safety rules put around them as to make them impossible to deal with. In a face to face conflict with a one sticker, the shield provides an...

Shield Class

The shield's come in light, medium, & heavy, and take various damage depending on which class of shield you use. Does this raise armor class by the shield's class or is it just for purposes of how much damage it takes?

Hmmmm. I suppose so. Perhaps my experiences with killing blows have been statistically anomolous (2 out of 3.3 events), but I suppose it could be quite useful. And I caught the arrow thing only moments after posting it  . Ah well, live and learn. Still seems weak to me.

A more playable Monk

I really like Monks conceptually, but right now the Brawler is just hands down a better discipline with a good third ability (3 combat reflexes) and an awesome fourth (+5 knockout). Additionally, the brawler is available to both common and savage. Monks currently have Ranged Block and Meditate as th...

Sorry I took so long to reply. I want to preface this with the fact that I wanted to let my friends express their views first so that you could see the opinion of the first time players I had there before I said my piece as I felt it was important that you knew what they had thought and felt their f...

"I'm sorry if you took offense to what I said, but you take it as an attack upon your king or your words. It is constructive criticism of your law, which you just admitted was fine for me to do. Unless this is considered speaking out against my betters. Still, I would agree to this law system i...

"And a mad king could consider it not killing if he does not consider a race people. True, a lack of sense can turn any law into a sham of order or decency. However, I see no order or decency coming from that particular decree with or without misinterpretation. Speech in public allows one to kn...

"If this is a basis of intention, then the law shall read as the king decrees it, and speaking out against will be whatever he deems it, intention of advisement or no. I think that perhaps the king we speak of is a good man who would not visit such harm upon those who only wish to aid the kingd...

A scuffling of footsteps can be heard from the stairs as Tony comes down, yawning. "You mentioned speaking against betters. What kind of betters do you refer to? It is the courageous advisor that admonishes an Emperor at the cost of his life to better the kingdom, but too much of this leads to ...
