yeah! My satelite uplink from the hinterlands of cheese!

From deep within the frozen and ice encrusted land of cheese, I have a working uplink... yay. Thanks Sam, we will indeed be coming to Mich over the holidays, and would love a chance to hang out with people again. We miss the old crowd, and we are planning on making it out more often in the coming ye...

For the record

For the record - I strongly dislike this... the subjective effect of whether crush effects a weapon and whether someone was swinging defensively or offensively is not possible to judge in combat. It will result in many out of game arguments and discord. I would rather see all crush hits to weapons c...

Canvas and Muslin

for the previous question on cloth walls and how to stand them up. Wayne has been testing this for a while, and we have been fairly successful. A simple pvc frame actually works fairly well, and can be broken down quickly and transported in small chunks. The entire portal has no pieces longer than a...

Wayne has excellent point here

The new site does have watchtowers and a pallisade wall... for other buildings created by players there will be a need for phys reps in the future. Modular buiildings/tents are the easiest way to go, we can use painted canvas/broadcloth to simulate wood and stone for relatively low cost and weight. ...

Unique skill

I would love to see another unique non combat skill for the assassin, that does not require out of game(or a way to use a passwall type skill without going out of game), none of us is against that, and we have spent the last 8 months or so looking for one. If anyone has a suggestion (and this was po...

one other thing...

headed weapons are great for taking on a sheild too. People tend to underestimate weapons like the battle axe, and block the haft rather than the head, leaving the head to still get shoulder or hip.

good points... a few in return

ah yes... we have had many discussions about shields... and you make some good points - here are a few other things to consider. One - Historically shields have been the best bang for the buck for millenia. Greek, phonecian, mesopotamian, and african tribal warriors have used shields effectively in ...

Excellent points

you took the words out of my mouth... level 4 monk is one of the most powerful in the game... as a warrior with level four you can crawl in negs, if you can just get some where to hide, crawl under a table, behind a shrub, into a corner, and then pass out as a monk you slowly heal and eventually you...

reduces the chances of something bad happening

the higher the rate, the lower the chance of something bad happening. The more resources you are likely to get out, and the lower the chance of you recieving below median performance from your route. In general you will have to decide for yourself, but there is always a chance your route can underpe...

just an FYI

Seamstress charges are often 20-25$ per hour. If you already have material and pattern, (with your trim and extra pockets) you are probably looking at 4-8 hours of work for a custom cloak. A 'fair' price from a seamstress for custom work of this kind could easily be 150-200. Not including materials....

ah now I see

okay, so we have more of a social dynamic here than an economic one I think. When someone goes off and does their own thing, it is hard to recover from, since you have a limited ammount of time in game to straighten out the change in structure out of game. That makes sense to me, and I can see your ...

maybe I wasn't clear...

The model was never designed based on how many people you have. Your production source (peasants etc) can only support so much overhead. No matter how many people you have, or how much influence, you will never get more than a certain ammount out of your production source, because there are only so ...

A perspective

Good evening, I have weighed whether or not I should post on this, and decided to give it a go. I have no idea what the 'right' way to do is, but I do know something about what was envisioned in the system we have. 1) ALL adventurers are essentially heroic (or anti-heroic) you are not NORMAL people,...

that is correct

do not confuse "you see what you see" with us not telling you. If we are playing costumed humanoids, what you see is what you get.
