Hehe, let's pretend the above was typed by Durgan. I forgot to log out as my new character. I guess we can safely assume that we know who "Daine" really is, lol.

That's absolutely perfectly fine with me. I like how LOTR approached things, in fact I prefer it in a roleplaying enviroment. But the fact remains that in my first situation where I mentioned such a thing in-game I got shut down completely and out of hand, and it really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Good and Bad are a lot more than religous ideals. Much of it is a natural law type thing (if you buy into it). But it's getting where anything even sounding like something remotely associated with religion in the real world are asociated the same way at FH/WH as a gut reaction (The question of Pala...

That's why I think that Order and Chaos would be good ideals to allow characters to follow in FH. They are the means, and good/evil are the ends. Order can end in Evil (the elves slaughtering all of us), Chaos can end in Good (sending an assassin to kill an evil warlord who would otherwise be free t...

I just hate defining good and evil because everyones knee jerk reaction is to classify them religiously. So would you say the people of haven are more inclined to Choas or Order. Definitely Chaos, because most of them are friggin' stick jockeys, and attack first, question later. It's quite simply wh...

Yes, but the Elves saw Order as something completely different than the Havenites. That's why it's in the eye of the beholder, which negates it from being in any way religious, in my mind. Order and Chaos are differing means to an end, not good or evil. At least that seems to be the leaning they are...

Basically, 'Order' would embody patience, empathy, and temperence. Chaos, on the other hand, is the essence of impatience, a bit of selfishness, and ego. Basically, you can either make a burger from scratch, pounding the meat into a patty, then cooking it on a sunny day over a wood fire, or you can ...

I think we should see faith in FH as the living force like Star wars, but the two sides being Order and Chaos, as we have called it in WH. There is no good or evil; no cosmic judge. It's basically Karma by another name. It is not religion, it is merely a way to describe how others tend to respond to...

I always saw faith in FH/WH as the Force. You can have souls (I mean, essences ), good and bad, all associated actions, but with no gods telling people what to do (and most importantly, not conflicting with anyone's RL religious beliefs) I mean, cmon, how is someone's essence not the same as a force...

That's true.I always assumed everyone could have a single fist anyway, regardless of class or skills. I just never made one because I didn't want to get that close, although I had thought about it so I was never without a weapon, because I am assuming that fists and packets would be things that woul...

Or you could have the target's armor factor in somehow. I know I wouldn't want to punch someone with plate on.

That's a part I didn't catch, so it led to some of the frustration. 'Cause if the damage output stayed where it is, and death became worse, phweeeew.....that'd be scary for non-warrior types that still want to be somewhere in the action.

Oh, I wasn't anywhere near the front line. It was during the cathedral battle around the essence pool, and I wasn't near the front. Travis just got really lucky and I pretty much intersected a dodged packet while stooping to get more ammo. Chuck those 2s out at anything holding a packet or not attac...
